DURING three weekends in January, swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club competed at the Devon County ASA 2017 Championships at the Plymouth Life Centre.

The club had an excellent number of swimmers who qualified for these county championships, with 19 swimmers competing in 92 individual events.

This resulted in numerous personal best times, 16 age group finals and two county championship finals.

Six medals were awarded: Sarah Teague, gold, 200m breaststroke; silver, 100m, breaststroke and silver 50m breaststroke. Peter Ray, bronze, 50m backstroke; bronze 200m backstroke. Nathaniel Rookes, bronze 50m breaststroke.

The club congratulated all the members who competed at these championships.
