TAVISTOCK Swimming Club masters section members Yvonne Carpenter-Warren and Chris Anderson represented the club in the South West Regional Championships at Millfield in Somerset.

They competed against swimmers from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Yvonne swam in the 25, 50 and 100 metre breaststroke and butterfly events, and in the 25 and 50 metre freestyle, achieving seven firsts and one second place, with three personal best times.

Chris competed in the 25, 50 and 100 metre freestyle and backstroke events, with five firsts and one second place, and two personal best times. Both swimmers give much of the credit for their success to club head coach James Lake who has worked with swimmers of all ages at the club for the last 18 months.

During the autumn the club will be competing in the Arena National Swimming League and in a range of sprint meets covering swimmers of all ages and abilities. A masters team will be going to Sheffield for the National Championships.
