A TEAM of 22 students and teaching staff from Shebbear College took part in a rather different set of the three Rs last week to raise money for charity.
The group ran, rowed and rode over 764km to raise money for Cancer Research UK using the college's gym equipment.
Initially the team was looking to cover the equivalent distance from Shebbear to Dublin, but when they realised the target was too easily achievable, they decided to double the distance.
Upon collecting their sponsorship, the team should have raised almost £1,000.
Jake Claridge, a student who took part in the fundraiser, said: 'We all felt it was really important at this time of year to try to do something special to raise money for something that affects many lives.'
Teacher Matt Langridge said: 'The students have been amazing. Every one of them has really put so much effort into this and really ought to be very proud.
'Raising almost £1,000 is incredible, especially for such a worthwhile and important charity.'
