LAST week 27 students from Callington Community College attended the Year Seven/Eight Cornwall Schools Athletics Championships at Par Running Track.

With 22 schools entered there were some very challenging races for students to compete in with some of the best athletes in Cornwall to race against.

All Callington College students competed well and always managed to finish within the top three of their heat. Annabel Colwill won the year seven 200m heat and third overall, Dan Paton won the year seven 70m hurdles heat and second overall while Leion Cole was first the year eight shot putt competition.

Each event had a points tally which led to an overall score for your school. When all points were added together Callington Community College managed to finish a respectable tenth place.
