WITH Christmas just around the corner, many members of the Bere Alston Trekkers have been preparing for the forthcoming festivities rather than racing, but one brave Trekker — Marcia Macey — made the journey to the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall this weekend to take part in the ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ Scrooge race, hosted by Cornish Trail Running club MudCrew.
The SAS Scrooge race is a seven mile muddy trail run with mandatory festive mayhem followed by the infamous MudCrew Christmas party.
The Scrooge is by no means an event for the faint hearted, not least because competitors are invited to don festive fancy dress before embarking upon seven miles of muddy, wet trail running.
