AN early Christmas present has been gratefully received by the Son Rise Cup Football Festival 2015.

The Co-operative Community have donated £1,800 to help pay for the hire and equipment for the tournament which will take place on May 23, 24 and 25 at Tavistock College and Tavistock AFC. The Tavispecials have played at this popular event for six seasons so they are happy about this generous donation.

Son-Rise cup committee chairman Robin Rich said: 'Once again the generous support from the Co-op Community Fund is so very welcome to our event. On behalf of all our committee, a big thank you to them!

'Plans are going ahead to celebrate the 10th event in 2015 so we are buzzing about his donation.

'Lets hope we have a really top festival for footballers of all ages and abilities from the West of England.'
