A DEPLETED Bere Alston were given a lesson in scoring as Bere Alston wasted chance after chance while Liskeard's forwards shot and hit the target at every opportunity.

Only Bere goalkeeper J Dixon came out of this game with any credit.

A late consolation from substitute Jason Cordice was Bere's only reward.

ONLY a late penalty saved Bere Alston's blushes as the Saints defended in depth and used the long ball to take off the pressure.

Bere took the lead in the fifth minute when Jason Cordice raced clear. This should have opened the flood gates but the Saints equalised ten minutes later — a long ball was headed on and it looped in from just inside the box.

The second half was one way but Saints would not roll over with their centre-half and keeper outstanding.

With extra time looming a ball played to Jason Cordice, for what would have been a tap in, ended with him being brought down for a penalty. The spot kick was put away by Paul Simpson.
