ON an overcast Sunday morning nine Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) made the short trip to Gulworthy to take part in Run Venture’s Rollercoaster held at Tamar Trials.

The Rollercoaster was five hills in five miles on tracks around the Tamar Trials and offered superb views around the Tamar Valley for the runners.

The event is one of the few that also caters for cannicross, runners assisted — or hindered — by their dog. BAT Debbie Ashton took part with her dog Fruitloop.

First BAT to finish was Jim Medhurst in 43 minutes 14 seconds, followed by Gary Fielder 44.31, Tanya Argue 46.11, Lisa Birch 50.03, Paul Martin 53.45, Debbie Ashton and Fruitloop 55.29, Michelle Jonas 57.28, Natasha Hingston 1.01.43 and Shaun Hingston 1.01.44.
