TAKING part in Sunday's Tavy 13 (half marathon) were 18 members of Bere Alston Trekkers.
The course started at Tavistock College, then wound its way along Crease Lane before climbing up Mill Hill and out onto Mile Level before returning for a fast finish along Crowndale and a lap of the track. Although a dry day the weather was extremely cold making the going hard for a lot of those taking part but all Bats ran well.
First male Bat home and second overall was Ben Neale who continues to run strong in preparation for the London Marathon and first female Bat and also second lady home was Becky Mingo who is training for the Taunton Marathon.
Personal bests for club members were run by Paul Mingo by 12 minutes, Pam Adams by two minutes and Alen Guy by one minute and a superb distance PB was run by Leigh Cossey-Haggar. Making their debut for the club was Rob Kirby.
As is the nature of the club there were groups that ran together and supported each other from start to finish.
Well done to all Bats taking part and those who supported them around the course.
