BERE Alston Bowling Club's first match of the season was away to Kingsbridge with new members Barry McPhillips and Carol Dummett making their debut.

Bere Alston lost 78-107 with the rink of Jim East, Michael East, Linda Squire and Ken Bellchambers winning 20-8, and the triple Barry McPhillips, Veronica Barden and Colin Squire drawing 13-13.
