OKEHAMPTON Argyle U10s travelled to Cullumpton to take part in the Devon and Exeter league plate competition.

With 10 teams in their league they started well winning the first game 6-0 before drawing 0-0 with Ottery St Mary- with seconds to go Josh Parsons beat two defenders and shot from close range but was thwarted by a great save from the Ottery keeper. They then beat Crediton 1-0 when a Ryan Quick cross was headed in by Josh Parsons in the last minute.

The next two games saw them beat Alphington and Hemyock, both 2-0, with the defence of Levi Ley and Ryan Quick, along with Reuben Bourne and Kristian Baulch rock solid; Harry Laing-Taylor in goal had little to do but dealt with everything well.

Against Heavitree the Argyle midfield of Sam Drew and James Stevens were ably assisted by Josh Parsons and Jack Rutley up front. Sam Drew cooly slot the ball home pass the advancing keeper for the first and the second from a penalty Parsons to win 2-0.

A goaless draw against St Martins and a fine display against Beacon Knights to win 3-0 booked a place in the final.

The final is due to be played on Sunday, May 13 at St James Park Exeter City.
