ABBY Chisholm from Lydford was presented with up the Endurance GB Supreme Champion-ship for 2012 at the Daventry Court Hotel, Northamptonshire last month.

The supreme champion is the horse and rider(s) that have gained the most points in all types of rides over the endurance season.

It has been a superb year for 15 year-old Abby, a Duchy College student, riding her mother's evergreen Grey Medlar.

Abby took part in her his first endurance competition in 1998 with mum Jo, with the combination subsequently going on to become Supreme Champions in 2000. Between 1998 and 2012 Medlar has covered an impressive 7,500km in 98 endurance rides covering all distances from 32km (20 miles) to 160 km (100 miles) in one day and two day rides, including the gruelling Golden Horseshoe on Exmoor and the equally tough Red Dragon in Wales; as well as representing Great Britain in Belgium and England in the Home International in Ireland, when he won the tough two day 160k endurance ride.

Abby, who was also EGB Young Rider National Champion in 2010 on her 13.2hh pony CFS Diana of Court, started riding Medlar in 2011.
