New leadership drives next chapter for Tavistock’s Pixon Lane Garage

A well-known name in Tavistock’s motor trade is entering a new era as Pixon Lane Garage begins a change in leadership this month, marking both a fond farewell and an exciting future for the long-standing local business.

The transition comes as the garage’s owner, Paul, retires after many years serving motorists in Tavistock. During his time at the helm, Pixon Lane Garage became a trusted fixture in the town, known for dependable repairs and straightforward service.

Customers and colleagues alike have paid tribute to Paul’s dedication to the local motoring community and have wished him a long and well-earned retirement.

Taking over the business is Tavistock resident Callum, who brings with him extensive experience from his family’s Plymouth-based company, Peverell Garage Limited.

Callum has spent years running the family garage alongside his parents in Plymouth, building a reputation for high-quality service and strong technical expertise.

The move to Pixon Lane represents both a professional and personal milestone. Having lived in Tavistock his entire life, Callum said the opportunity allows him to work closer to home while continuing a tradition of independent, customer-focused garage services.

Under its new leadership, Pixon Lane Garage will develop into an independent specialist for VAG Group vehicles—including Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda—as well as BMW and MINI models.

Callum brings with him more than three decades of family experience built around advanced diagnostics and a “personal service” approach developed at Peverell Garage.

Despite the specialist focus, the garage will continue servicing and repairing vehicles of all makes and models, ensuring local motorists can access expert maintenance without travelling to main dealerships.

With modern diagnostic technology and a strong family heritage behind it, the new management aims to build on the reputation established by Paul while offering expanded technical capability.

For many Tavistock drivers, the message remains simple: the trusted garage on Pixon Lane remains firmly rooted in the community — just with a new generation behind the tools.
