Owner Brett gives an update on ABC Service’s continued success and growth.
No money behind me, no private investors (apart from my dad buying me a small giftware business in our local Pannier Market to start me off), ABC Service has been built with a lot of hard graft since 2009.
Have mistakes been made along the way? Yes. Has there been blood, sweat and tears? Yes, and I'm not exaggerating. We've had plenty of fun, and we've stressed to the eyeballs. Are we perfect? No. But are we always trying to adapt to what our customers need? Yes. Do we try our best for you, the customer? Every day. And that's all I can ask of my staff.
Right now, we're fortunate to have a constant influx of work, and because of that we're investing in training and staff. We're also making better use of our systems, especially the website, where you can book engineers, book devices in for repair, order printing online and much more. It's simple maths; every member of staff here is one that does the job. The more admin we're doing ourselves, the less time we have to do the actual work. Putting that power into your hands means our time is spent on the work, not the paperwork, and self-service is key to growing ABC Service and supporting you better.
We've recently launched our Digital Update; our new quarterly magazine, written and printed right here at ABC Service, going out to local businesses in Tavistock. If you run a business in town, keep an eye out for it.
The range of what we do here is wide from Home IT Support, Business IT Support and Managed IT, Design, Print, and Business Telecoms including mobile phone contracts. On business phone and broadband, feel free to reach out directly, we're happy to take a look at your contract and see if we can beat your current price. In some cases we can; in others we may work out the same or slightly more. But the difference is that we're on your high street. You don't have to ring a call centre, and you can actually walk in and speak to us. You can't do that with many telecom providers, and the walk-in, speak-to-a-real-person approach is exactly what we intend to keep.
As for printing… it's expanding, but I can't reveal too much just yet. What I will say is that it's exciting; we're bringing in small-quantity options when we launch a range of new premium products and more. We're tidying up other areas of print so everything flows better, and with the extra pairs of hands we have, it's going to be even better for everyone.
