Devon & Exeter Intermediate 1

Exeter Bohemians 1

South Zeal 1

ONE-up at half-time Zeal should have won this game by a distance but a lapse in defence and many missed chances in the first and second half proved costly.

Wonnacott gave Zeal the lead after 15 minutes of the first half but Zeal allowed Bohemians a soft equaliser early in the second half, proceeded to miss chance after chance and came away with only a point.

Next match, Bohemians home, May 14, 6.30pm kick-off.

University 2

South Zeal 2

UNIVERSITY outplayed Zeal in the first half and with a strong wind at their backs could have been more than two goals up at half-time.

Zeal reorganised in the second half, pushing Reg Wonnacott into midfield. This gave Zeal more options in attack and within ten minutes of the second half they reduced the deficit when Steve Pillivant scored with a great free kick from 20 yards out.

University were now on the back foot and 15 minutes later Roger White scored Zeal's equaliser after some good work by Bellairs,

Zeal were coping well at the back with John Halliday and Tim Sanderson giving the University forwards little room to create any chances and close to getting the winner — it would have been deserved after a great comeback in the second half.
