Devon and Exeter division three
Winkleigh 0
South Zeal Utd 3
SOUH Zeal had lost 4-1 at home to Winkleigh only four weeks ago but gained full compensation on Saturday with three well taken goals and a very good defensive display. For the first 20 minutes the home side were dominant and only good defence and sound goalkeeping by Reg Wonnacott kept the score at 0-0. United's Darren Prouse and Will Eddy, prompted by Redd Cann and Tom Reilly, started to create chances for Zeal and they took the lead when Redd Cann hit a great free-kick from 20 yards that beat the home keeper at his right hand post.
Although still dangerous the home sides domination started to wane and Zeal went two up after 35 minutes when Darren Prouse received a pass on the edge of the penalty area and made enough room for himself to bend a great left foot shot into the far corner.
Winkleigh came back at South Zeal in the second half but could not break down the well organised defence and after some near misses the visitors made the game safe when a Redd Cann corner was hit into the roof of the net by Dan Wakeham at the near post.
