South Zeal 2

Bow 3

WITH three players on the pitch suffering with flu and several missing this was a below par performance by Zeal, but nothing should detract from the fact that Bow were the better team and deserved their victory.

Zeal were two goals up in 15 minutes when first Arun Ditchburn and Shaun Hitchcock exchanged passes down the right with the latter finishing well from 12 yards. A great lob from Alan Vile gave Zeal their second.

Bow were always dangerous and pushed Zeal back with some good attacking play. It was no surprise to see them score two goals in the first half to even the score.

At the start of the second half Zeal looked to be getting back into the match but could not convert good attacking play into goals. Then with 25 minutes left Bow broke down the right and scored to take the lead.

Zeal now tried to push forward and Neil Clift in goal kept them in the game with some great saves. But at the other end it was a day of near misses by the Zeal forwards as several chances went just wide.

This week Crescent away, kick-off 3pm.
