ONE of the largest missionary agencies in the world came to Okehampton recently to run a course in church-based discipleship training.
Youth WIth A Mission (YWAM) recently completed a 12-week course at Okehampton College community centre.
Youth With a Mission is the single largest agency in England, sending Christian missionaries abroad.
The course was open to all churches in the area and aimed to encourage young people to be enthused, focussed and prepared to live out their faith in the area in which they live and beyond. In total, 15 youngsters completed the course and were presented with certificates.
Youth With A Mission was founded in 1960 and has more than 12,000 volunteer staff ? and thousands more affiliated workers ? based in more than 800 locations in 135 countries.
The group came to Okehampton following a request for discipleship training from senior minister at Okehampton Inspiration (Church of the Nations) Mike Davies.
