Tavistock U11s 15
Topsham U11s 25
TAVISTOCK were slow starting and missed a few tackles which allowed Topsham to score two early tries.
The home players then woke up and forwards Callum, Will and Harry started to provide good ball to the backs. Ben broke away through the centre and set up a ruck near the Topsham line from which George went over to score.
Topsham then responded with two further quick tries before George, sniping from the base of a well won scrum, scored to reduce the deficit to 10-20 at half time.
Tavistock came out much more strongly in the second half with forwards Callum and Rory taking the game to Topsham.
Strong runs up field by Ethan, Laurence, Lilly and Alex put considerable pressure on Topsham and a poor defensive kick was caught by Will who ran in to score.
Tavistock continued to drive forward and looked as if they would score again to level the match but lost the ball enabling Topsham to score a runaway try with the last move of the game.
Okehampton U11s 7
Exmouth U11s 14
THIS superb game of rugby kept the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout. Praise must go to Exmouth who attacked well but the young Okes' defence was in good form.
Oke's scrum half Tom Bayley set the tone of the match from the outset as he was all over his opposite number and continued to tackle everything that moved in what was a superb performance.
Early in the game Exmouth camped in the Okehampton half and crossed the line on a number of occasions only to be held up and knocked back by the determined defence with Joe Mawle, Jack Raymond, Tom Bayley, Finn Fallon-Clarke and Daniel Thorne all making try saving tackles.
Exmouth battled on and scored two converted tries and Okehampton replied with a try from Finn Fallon-Clarke converted by Daniel Thorne.
All the Oke team deserve a mention for their performance including Matthew Stoner, Patrick Beacom, William Bentley - Lovell, Paul Roth, Jake Lawson, Jordan Drew, Jack Dickinson and Ben Stevens.
Okehampton U10s 5
Exmouth U10s 10
OKEHAMPTON lost their unbeaten record, due to a combination of factors. They started slowly and allowed the home side to use the narrow pitch and driving play to gain an early lead.
No less than ten penalty awards to one were counted in the home side's favour.
Gregory Daniel showed admirable strength and determination to level the scores, before the dubious and undeserved winning score was awarded.
In the return match Oke triumphed comfortably as they ran out winners by 30-5. Try scores were Leon Horne, Joseph Stratton, the ever improving Jack Chapman (2) and an impressive brace from Angus Cunningham who ploughed a forceful furrow up the right flank.
Plymstock U9s 20
Tavistock U9s 25
ONE of the closest and best games so far this season ended with a victory to Tavistock.
This seemed a long way off at half time when Tavistock were 15-0 and were yet to score but suddenly some true grit took over as Lachlan started to make things happen in the middle of the field.
Morgan held onto the ball as he stormed through the Plymstock defence, while Jude and Jack both scored stunning tries. John and Jason dominated in the pack and great tackling from Theo and Luke helped the team to win the game with tremendous second half performance.
The player of the match award was given to the whole team for their teriffic fighting spirit.
Exmouth U9s 20
Okehampton U9s 50
ALL the Oke players played their part in this solid performance away to Exmouth. They seemed to gel as a team and displayed some great ball handing skills and anticipation of Exmouth's attacking moves.
Oke had much of the early play and continued to apply pressure on Exmouth, resulting in an opening try for Daniel Turney. Determined tackling followed from Bradley Simmons, with Gareth Crome beginning to show his tenacity in defence.
Once again Dai Chi was fast in attack, opening up the Exmouth defence with his quick darting runs to go over the score line four times. His final try down the left wing followed a superb offload from Will Risdon.
Nathan Tomkins displayed determination, saving Exmouth from scoring on several occasions and managing to score five tries himself, after great supporting play from all the team.
This was a match played in good spirit and sportsmanship by both teams.
The second game was only played over 10 mins with Oke winning this one 3-2 in tries, with Nathan scoring two and the other by Dai Chi.

Saracens opened the scoring with a couple of quick tries and a penalty.
They competed well and didn't let their heads drop with Callum Pillivant scoring their only try and Billy Searle kicking the conversion. Sarries went onto score another two tries and one conversion.
