IN reply to P Dayman?s letter (?Why are waiting?? Times, June 7),:- The insurers of the freeholders of the building concerned are paying for the cost of the traffic lights and scaffolding in New Road, Okehampton. It won?t affect anyone?s council tax. The engineers have stated work is due to start ?imminently?, although no date is given. As a grossly inconvenienced resident of the building, I can assure your readers that we are more eager than any of them to see this matter brought to a satisfactory end. After 18 months of apparent inaction we can all understand their frustration, but ours is greater! Whatever your view on this ?temporary? structure, you will appreciate that it is a very difficult site to evaluate and carry out work upon. If any reader would like to buy a flat, they can also experience living above it. Any takers? Pam Stewart Prospect Hill Okehampton
