SOURTON Parish Hall has been shortlisted in a competition to win a makeover by an expert team of painter and decorators — but the votes of West Devon residents are needed to make it a winner.

The hall, which will be 50 years old this summer, is widely used by the community but it needs urgent redecoration.

The competition, Paint for Change, is run by the Sun newspaper and Dulux.

Geraldine Jury, chairman of the parish hall, said: 'We need your votes to fill up Sourton's paint-pots so please vote for Sourton Parish Hall as we are the only hall in Devon and Cornwall to be chosen.

'Please vote on  thesun.co.uk/dulux'

During bank holidays and August the hall runs cream teas and light lunches to raise funds for Sourton Parish Church restoration fund.

'There is always something doing at the parish hall,' said Geraldine.
