OLD COMPUTERS are being sought by a community project at Kingdon House Community Centre in Tavistock. The Solo PC Training is a project aimed at people who want to learn computing — but for the new students who want to progress in the topic, old PCs are needed. The courses held are in computing for all levels of expertise, and leisure courses for people who want to manage digital photography. Tutor Janet Mashford said: 'Some of the new learners do not have PC computers and we have the facility to recycle donated computers or upgrade them. 'Lots of people have laptops now and I have noticed the tip is getting inundated with them — it's a crying shame to see it.' Computers with software problems or considered as slow or old with Windows 98 or older, can be used as spare parts or even used again as PCs.
