COME along and give your views on any issue affecting Okehampton at the town?s Annual Assembly next month. The public meeting is an opportunity for the electorate of Okehampton to ask any questions of its town councillors. Sure to be among the hottest topics is the town council?s contentious proposal to allow the market hall to be transformed into a three-screen cinema. The assembly takes place on Monday, April 3, at 7pm in the Charter Hall. Questions can be submitted in writing to the town clerk at the town hall prior to the event or there will be an opportunity to ask questions from the floor. l Meldon Village Hall will serve as the venue for the annual assembly of Okehampton Hamlets Parish Council next Tuesday (April 4). Guest speaker will be Dr Nick Atkinson, chief executive of the Dartmoor National Park Authority. The meeting is an opportunity for parishioners to have their say and ask questions about any issues relating to Okehampton Hamlets. Mayor of West Devon Mrs Jayne Hill and other borough councillors will be at the meeting. Also present will be PC May. The assembly gets underway at 7.30pm with lots of locally produced refreshments on offer.
