Tavistock Parish Church Choir has gained five new junior members.

Cora Standing, Emilia Barrett, Toby and Holly Johnson and Isobel Smith have been attending services and rehearsals for a while as probationers just wearing a red cassock, but they have now been admitted as full choristers.

During a short ceremony in the packed Easter morning service, they were awarded their white surplices and Royal School of Church Music medallions with white ribbons to show their new status.

They are now looking forward to further developing their choral skills, using the RSCM Voice for Life training scheme.
