ARGYLE's topsy-turvy season continued on Saturday with this convincing victory.
Steve Ausden and Steve Harris returned to the side, giving it some experience alongside Neil Agnew, whose constant running gave the team many options.
Argyle dominated the first period with Steve Williams and Tim Shaw having plenty of possession and causing problems with their pace. Both were guilty of several missed opportunities along with Paul Yip, who somehow missed the target from under six yards.
Frustration set in with the home side wondering how they would score. The deadlock was broken when Williams rifled a low drive into the corner. Argyle conceded a sloppy goal on the stroke of half time.
After the interval they continued to dominate with veteran Roger Voaden playing at full back overlapping at every opportunity. Wide players Dan Johnson and Yip were full of running and both made good chances for the front two.
Shaw fired home from close range and an excellent finish from Yip put Argyle in total control.
Williams again missed when he was one-on-one with the keeper. Neil Agnew scored the fourth when he started and finished a fine move by coolly slotting home from a narrow angle.
Jason Sandford joined the fray, playing his first game after 14 weeks out, along with Christian Jones who gave a good account of himself, as did Steve Loftus.
Young keeper Scott Leyman had a good game, as did James Williams and the impressive Chris Wills, the latter two being the youngest players in a side which seems to be getting better with every game they play.
There is no game for the reserves this week, but the first eleven are at home against Witheridge, kick-off 3pm, players to meet at 2pm.
