Devon Cup U15s

Crediton U15s 10

Okehampton U15s 10

(Crediton won on tries scored)

CREDITON sneaked into the quarter finals of the Devon Cup, after drawing with Okehampton and going through on the 'tries scored' rule.

The home side had points on the board from an early move, with centre Gareth Dart bursting through a gap in the Okehampton line to touch down. Okehampton fought back with a converted try and held a 7-5 lead throughout a tight first half.

The wet and muddy conditions made for a game dominated by forwards and both teams struggled to pass the ball out to the backs.

Henry Nuthall, at prop for Crediton, consistently used his strength and power against a strong Oke pack.

Early in the second half, Okehampton got close enough to score with a drop goal for a 10-5 lead, but Crediton exerted enormous pressure on Okehampton in the final 10 minutes.

They conceded five consecutive penalties close to their own goal line, and eventually Ben Wonnacott piled over with the equalising try.
