AN EASTER fundraiser was held at St Paul's Church Hall in Yelverton in support of Henry Hallan, a little boy battling cancer.

Henry has just started his radiotherapy for Nueroblastoma and has been put on an IL2 trial — IL2 is a protein that stimulates the white blood cells in the body. It will help Henry's immune system in fighting the cancer.

The fundraiser was organised by Henry's grandmother, Sharon Hallan, and her sister, Hellen.

The event consisted of an Easter egg hunt, an Easter bonnet competition, face painting, a raffle, selling of wares and cakes.

Yelverton fire crew came along to support the fundraiser and allowed the children to go on the fire engine, dress up in the crew's uniforms and have their photos taken.

Little Maddison Bevan even emptied her piggy bank and donated £15 to the fundraiser. Maddison said: 'Henry needs it more than I need toys.'

Her cousin, William Prout, joined in on the cause and donated £5 as well.

Thanks were expressed to the two children, as well as Pearce's Garage,Gunnislake; Co-op, Yelverton; Bidder's Butcher, Yelverton; the Times and everyone who gave donations and made cakes.
