CHILDREN are needed to join in the Leg O' Mutton free golden jubilee street party in Yelverton on Monday.

The party will start at 12.30pm outside the Leg O' Mutton Inn, with entertainment also being provided in the pub's car park.

There will be music all day, including the BBC Music Live song and the nationally famous Swervy World Cabaret Entertainers.

There will also be karaoke for children and adults provided by the Sound City Road Show, and Plymouth Legends Pop Club.

Competitions for children will include poetry, art and fancy dress relating to the royal event.

Games throughout the afternoon will include adult and children's tug-o-war and wellie-wanging. There will also be a balloon race and face painting.

Entertainment will continue well into the evening with music and on ox roast barbecue.

Parents can register their children, aged 11 and under, with Howard or Ian on 01822 854195.

Numbers are limited, so it will be first-come-first-served. Each child booked for a free place will also receive a commemorative mug specially commissioned for the inn.

If you are not lucky enough to get a free place, you are invited along anyway to enjoy the party. Food and drinks will be available to buy throughout the day.

Support is invited for the event, as it is hoped to raise money for the Yelverton Community Project and Children's Hospice South West while having fun.
