MEMBERS?of Cheriton and Tedburn Young Farmers' Club were in the giving mood at their Christmas party, donating two cheques to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
The club's advisory committee raised £660 for the charity, and the members raised a fantastic £1,250 over the previous 12 months.
The club raised the money with a series of fundraising events, including raffles, a coffee morning, discos, and a clay pigeon shoot. Members also took part in a hike and bike event from Chagford to Widecombe in the Moor. A team of cyclists raced against a team of hikers across the moor to Widecombe, with the cyclists triumphing despite having further to travel.
The club supports a charity each year, having decided to support CLIC Sargent for 2012.
Chairman Chris Berry said: 'Supporting local charities each year is an important part of what we do in Young Farmers' Club, and we take great pride in raising as much money as possible as well as helping them in any other way we can.'
