YOUNG football players in Okehampton, Hatherleigh and North Tawton can keep fit and have fun this summer holiday when the Exeter City FC soccer roadshow returns to town.

The popular roadshow gives boys and girls aged 5 to 14 the opportunity to improve their football skills, keep fit and have fun in a safe and structured environment.

The roadshows come to Simmons Park, Okehampton, on three separate occasions. There will be a three-day roadshow on Wednesday, August 7 to Friday, August 9 and a two-day course running from Monday, September 2 to Tuesday, September 3. There is also a one-day event on Wednesday, August 21.

Hatherleigh Town Football Club will host a roadshow on Monday, August 19 and North Tawton FC will host one on Thursday, August 22.

Scott Walker, sports development officer for Football in the Community, said: 'We are offering more courses than ever before this summer. Children need plenty of exercise and stimulation during the summer holidays and what better way to keep fit and have fun than to combine football with making friends?'

There are also a range of courses for toddlers, goalkeepers and those wanting to try out futsal — a fast-paced form of indoor five-a-side football — in Exeter.
