GREASE is the word at Okehampton this Saturday, June 16, when the popular 70s musical is the theme for a charity event. Organised by Okehampton and District Round Table, the special event, a summer dance, takes place at Okehampton Rugby Club and is to raise money for local people or organisations. Fancy dress is optional but is encouraged ? organisers wonder if there is a potential Danny or Sandy out there that the recent reality TV show missed. A live 60s to 90s band will perform, complemented by a disco between performance times. There will be a licensed bar and a buffet. Outdoor family entertainment, from bungee runs to pedal cart races, will also be included. The event runs from 6.30pm until 1am. Tickets are £16 per person. Children under 16 are free, accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available from Donald?s Menswear, Okehampton or by calling Joe Endacott on 01837 54296. Okehampton Round Table chairman Joe Endacott said: ?We work hard throughout the year to generate charity money through our fundraising events, and this dance is no exception. ?We rely on the kind support from people in and around the town, so please come and support this dance, and, above all, have fun.?
