A COLLECTION was made at Yelverton Shops in aid of the Ukrainian refugees.

Yelverton Rotary Club is delighted to report that, thanks to the generosity of local shoppers, the collection together with other donations on the day amount ed to £1,200.

Distribution via Rotary International, together with funds raised by other Rotary clubs, will ensure that the whole of this money will quickly and directly get to where it is most needed.

Contact has been made with 40 Rotarian leaders from Ukraine and neighbouring countries, a Rotarian global disaster response fund is in place and efforts will principally focus on refugees escaping the war. It is good to know that contact is made with fellow Rotarians where help is needed, said the club.

The club is pleased to report the reopening of the Memory Café but has renamed it ‘The Yelverton Friendship Café.’ Meetings as before are held at the Briar Tor Community Room, Yelverton on the first and third Friday of the month, 2pm to 4pm.
