YELVERTON Hurricanes U11s had a victory over previously unbeaten Plympton to record their fifth consecutive win of the season. They now jointly lead the league.

Plympton won the toss and asked Yelverton to bat.

The first two pairs — Luke Julyan, Dan Farnham, Max Hayward and Max Pamplin — batted sensibly and, without losing a wicket , took the score to 252 at the half way stage after 10 overs. The Plympton bowling then got tougher and the  Hurricanes final two pairs lost three wickets with Yelverton finishing on 266. Top scorers were Ben Grove (13) and Max Pamplin (11).

Yelverton then took three wickets in their first five overs, reducing Plympton to 193. The second and third Plympton pairs struggled against some accurate Yelverton bowling and five further wickets fell, restricting Plympton to 207 after 15 overs. While the last Plympton pair added 21 runs to take their score to 228, Yelverton ended up winning by 37 runs.

The pick of the Yelverton bowlers were Ben Grove (3-14), Ben Dunlop (2-12) and Dan Farnham (2-22).
