IT didn?t take long did it? Referring to the yellow ?motor cycle? signs which have been erected along the A386 highlighting the awareness to both motorists and motorcyclists before someone (Paul Rendell, Letters, August 24) writes in bemoaning that he had witnessed two motorcyclists overtaking him whilst exceeding the speed limits. I offer Paul Rendell the opportunity to ride pillion on my high-powered Kawasaki 1100 ZZR for a 100-mile plus trip around the roads of the South West so that he can then witness for himself the issues we motorcyclists have to deal with, namely, motorists who continue to use mobile phones, eat, drink or map read whilst driving, or contend with lorry drivers who contravene the double white lines at the Dartmoor Diner, by overtaking a cyclist and leaving me with nowhere to go, necessitating an emergency stop to allow him to complete his manoeuvre, whilst commuting to work on a wet Monday morning. Or perhaps, the daily event of dodging the ?red light jumpers? at Derriford roundabout, all in addition to motorists? own excessive speeds. The signs have been erected for the benefit of all Paul, there good and poor examples of each type of road user. Let?s not continue to give examples of errant motorcyclists when clearly, there are those who behave well, just as there are motorists. Grahame Coker Horrabridge
