CALLINGTON Town Council has agreed to officially recognise Cornish as a living language.

The town is one of the three in Cornwall to adopt the Cornish Language Policy, also used by Cornwall Council, which recognises Cornish as unique cultural asset and endeavours to use it in signage, leaflets and on websites.

The move will not have any financial implications as it is just about signing up to the policy at the moment. The language will be used as and when new leaflets and signs are produced.
