STOWFORD Parish Council recently purchased two trophies to commemorate the Royal Wedding.

These trophies have been presented to Lew Trenchard Primary School by Stowford's chairman Cllr Dave Hewett and Lifton Primary School by Cllr Audrey Hennessey.

The recipient of the trophy at Lew Trenchard School was Jamie Crocker-Valeron. He received it 'for his positive contribution to the school' helping make a major impact in sport and maths and helping others to gain confidence and skills.

Livvy Penrose also received an award for her excellent progress in all subjects and in her improved attitude to learning, encouraging and supporting others.

The council also awarded a trophy to Lifton Primary School pupil Hannah Sampson. She received it for outstanding contributions to a number of charities.

Each year Hannah takes part in a sponsored dog walk to raise money for rescue dogs and cats.

She also bags up toys, pencils, pens, paper, rulers and other useful items for the Sunshine Appeal which is a Christian based charity.
