A DARTMOOR village will resound with dance tunes when Devon-based music organisation Wren holds a full day of participatory workshops this autumn.
On October 4, musicians of all backgrounds are welcome to Clearbrook to enjoy a professionally led programme. The day will run from 10am to 5pm and will cost £18 (£12 concessions).
More experienced players will be able to extend their repertoire while relative newcomers will receive a lively introduction to traditional local tunes.
Nick Wyke and Paul Wilson will be leading the workshops, both of whom are experienced performers and authorities on the music of the West Country. The day will be based around the tune book of William Andrew who lived at nearby Sheepstor. Andrew played to the famous folk-song collector Baring-Gould one hundred years ago.
In the evening there will be a concert lead by Paul and Nick, which will give participants an opportunity to perform the music they've learned during the day.
