CHAGFORD'S community enterprise Proper Job will be running a series of construction workshops in the coming weeks in line with their aim to help build local sustainability.
The workshops will run alongside the construction of low impact buildings at Proper Job's new Composting, Re-use and Repair Centre.
The first building will be a timber framed straw bale barn.
Opportunities are available to participate in one or all of the workshops, all of which will illustrate and involve participants directly in low impact building techniques.
No previous building experience is expected and different levels of skills can be accommodated.
However, those with skills and experience are encouraged to bring them.
The workshops include reciprocal roof construction, lime rendering and plastering, an introduction to green woodwork and dry composting toilet systems.
