A PICTURE painted by former Tavistock mayor Caroline Keane which was sold to Kelly College, was her largest painting ever to be sold not her first, as stated in the Times last week. The large octagonal painting formed an important part of the Sacred Footprints Exhibition and Lecture series held in the Cube 3 gallery in 2005 by Peninsula Arts. It is the largest painting she has ever attempted. She started this painting following the death of Robert Lenkiewicz, with whom she was a private student. On Friday, May 11 Mrs Keane presented the Times with a collage of Castle Drogo made of mixed media and oil on canvas at the 150th anniversary celebrations for the newspaper in the town hall. The painting had been bought by Times proprietor Sir Ray Tindle at the Kelly College auction.
