CHURCHES in the Tavistock area will be taking part in Women?s World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 4. The day begins as the dawn breaks over the island of Tonga and continues across each continent, with the last services being held on the islands of Samoa, circling the world in prayer for approximately 36 hours. This year?s service ? which is translated into more than 60 languages and 1,000 dialects ? has been prepared by the Christian women of Poland and is entitled ?Let our Light Shine?. Local services include one at 2pm at Tavistock Methodist Church and 2pm at Bere Alston United Church. Everyone is welcome, including men.
