Women from around Devon gathered in Tavistock to attend an open day at the Bedford Hotel to develop their knowledge and skills in business. The event, organised by the South West Business Support Network, was sponsored by Lloyds TSB, Business Link and West Devon Business Information Point, and included advice in marketing, public relations, advertising, effective website design and finance. Kath Tatlock, founding director of Women in Business, was pleased with the event: 'It has been extremely well supported by local businesses, including the chamber of commerce. It is really important to have local people on board, that's been the key to the day.' Julie Moore, Drake's Dartmoor project manager said: 'It was a most informative day with practical and useful advice. Particularly valuable was the opportunity to ask individual questions from the experts and the chance to network with like minded women.'
