POLICE are investigating after a woman from Yelverton died following a collision near the village.

At approximately 11.20pm on Friday, November 28 a collision occurred on the A386 at the junction with the minor road leading to Yelverton Golf Club.

A black Honda Civic was travelling from Yelverton towards Plymouth when it was in collision with a female pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a woman aged 58 from the Yelverton area, died of her injuries. Her next of kin have been informed although formal identification has not yet been carried out.

The male driver of the car was treated for shock.

Any witnesses to the incident or who saw the black Honda Civic prior to the collision are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting log number 951 of November 28.
