A WOMAN had to be cut free from her vehicle following a collision at Haye Down, Chillaton, on Tuesday morning. Fire crews from Tavistock released the local woman who was conveyed to hospital by road ambulance. She suffered neck injuries in the collision which involved a car and a light commercial van. The accident occurred at 11.20am. Tavistock firefighters also attended two house fires on Sunday — one in the evening at Kilworthy Hill, Tavistock, where an electrical fire had started in the shower unit, and a kitchen fire in the morning at Great Felling Field, Mary Tavy. Grass fires on Dartmoor over the weekend also kept crew members and those from Yelverton and Bere Alston busy.
