POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a report that a teenaged girl was approached by a man while she was walking in Horrabridge on Friday (February 13).

The man reportedly grabbed the girl's shoulder before running off, during the incident between 7am and 7.15am.

The man is described as white, around 6ft tall and of slim build, in his late 40s with a stubbly face. He was wearing a dark coat, black trousers and black shoes.

Tavistock Sgt Dave Anning said: 'The girl ran away, but was understandably frightened by the incident. Officers would like to speak to a man who may have been in the area at the time. He may go by a nickname of 'Maz' or something similar.

'He has grey flecked hair that appears greasy or wet and long fingernails on some fingers. He has a deep voice with a Devon accent and may habitually wear a long brown coat.'
