TEIGN Valley?s Barry Austin warmed up for the European Tour School with a one-stroke victory in the latest round of the DCPGA Winter Medal series at Teignmouth Golf Club.
He shot two under par 68 to beat Sean Mason (Teignmouth) and Ashley Moon (Okehampton) by one stroke.
The pros found the course in good condition and enjoyed a warm welcome in the new clubhouse that opened earlier in the year. The event attracted 34 players and the top 16 from the order of merit qualify for the DCPGA Matchplay Championship next March. The order of merit is currently led by Barry Austin.
