LEW Trenchard Primary School was the winner of the recent heat for the Rotary Club of Okehampton's Primary School Quiz.

Five schools — Okehampton, Lydford, Lifton, Lew Trenchard and Bridestowe — entered a total of eight teams in the evening event at Okehampton Primary School.

After a hard fought contest, Lew Trenchard was the clear winner with Lifton winning a tie-break question to gain second place.

These two teams will now join the other heat winners in the grand final on March 4 at Okehampton College.

Lew Trenchard's winning team is shown holding its certificates and members also received excellent prizes from the Rotary Club.
