A NEW exhibition showcasing Dartmoor's winning landscapes will be on show at Dartmoor National Park Authority's High Moorland Visitor Centre, Princetown from tomorrow (Friday).

The Winning Landscapes exhibition shows how Dartmoor has inspired world famous film producers and amateur photographers alike to capture its beauty.

Dartmoor National Park provided many of the locations for the filming of the Steven Spielberg blockbuster War Horse. Specialist staff from the authority (DNPA) provided advice and assistance to the production team before and during filming.

The first half of the exhibition tells the story of War Horse from a Dartmoor perspective. Visitors can also discover how the first world war has influenced the Dartmoor landscape we see today.

The Winning Landscapes exhibition also showcases images from DNPA's Capturing Dartmoor photographic competition. Held last year, the competition had more than 400 entries and the majority will be on display.

The exhibition will run throughout the summer, closing on September 12. The High Moorland Visitor Centre is open daily from 10am.
