Feniton IIIs 1 Okehampton Argyle IIIs 2 OKEHAMPTON started the game well with the Feniton goalkeeper beating away an early Wooldridge strike. Argyle again went close from the resulting corner when Ben Woodhouse?s header went just over the crossbar. Feniton?s first attack produced the game?s first goal when a lack of communication in the Argyle defence allowed the attacker a clear run at goal, and he unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net. It did not take long for Okehampton to equalise when Barry Monnox used his pace to race clear of the defence and fire in from 12 yards. Argyle continued to pile on the pressure with Will Eddy and Shaun Hiscock both having headers cleared off the line. With the scores level going into the second half, Okehampton went ahead when Barry Monnox went one on one with the keeper before unselfishly squaring it for Ricky Wooldridge to pass it into the empty net. Feniton continued to push for an equaliser, however some good goalkeeping from Neil Clift combined with a man of the match performance from Jamie Back meant they didn?t get it. Okehampton can take plenty of positives going into their first home game this Saturday against Beacon Knights.
