SOUTH Zeal were slow to get going at the Recreation Ground on Saturday and could have been two down within 10 minutes as misplaced passes allowed the visitors to break on them continuously. Eventually Winkleigh took a well deserved lead after 15 minutes, and although Zeal created several good chances, went two up 10 minutes before half-time when another long ball left the home sides defence exposed.
In the second half Zeal played with more puspose but struggled to convert some good chances and paid the penalty when another break by the mobile Winkleigh forwards increased their advantage to three goals. Harley Cann reduced the deficite to two with 15 minutes remaining but after several good chances went narrowly wide. Winkleigh made the game safe five minutes from time from the penalty spot to give them an emphatic win. n This week South Zeal are away to Bampton, kick-off 3pm.
