A SUCCESSFUL wine and wisdom evening held at Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall recently raised a splendid £468 for charity, with people travelling from as far afield as Exeter to take part.
The money raised is being donated to Devon Aid ? Karogwe, which works to provide safe water for villagers in the Karogwe district of Tanzania.
Vivien England thanked the 20 teams who made the evening such a success and the quiz-master David Arney.
At the end of a close competition, the winners were Peter Sleeman and his team from Launceston, who beat the two runners-up by just one point.
The next fundraising event for Devon Aid ? Karogwe is a car treasure hunt and barbecue to be held on July 5 ? for the more energetic, a cycle ride is being organised for August 17. All are welcome.
